Did a little casting and reloading for the 50s today. We should be set up for antelope and deer this fall. Rifle season is creeping up on us.

Thanks Don. These tools are fun to use! It gives me a different perspective on reloading!

I know what you mean Stephen. I have that Ideal tool for the 38-40 with the built in bullet mould, really makes you think about how them Old Dead Guys did stuff.

Yep Don. I've been using these tools for a few years now. I also built a full length sizing tool based off the pictures in Sellers book. They all work great, with acceptable accuracy! I've always wanted to get my hands on some original followers. By measuring it's length from end to shoulder, this would give me some cool information on how deep the bullet was suppose to by Sharps recommendations. One of these days I hope to come across one.

Super cool tools Stephen!

You are a skilled craftsman!

I loaded up some 44-77 for the last time before hunting season. Just finished up filing my front sight for a 100 yards zero and filing the flip up rear sight for 200.

I hope to use it on a pinedale area moose hopefully in a few weeks after a few days with the bow scouting.

That is a nice capper/de-capper Stephen.
I have a 310 tool set for the .44-77. I got for a pack tool when I'm on the road. But I use it more here at home and at the range. They work just fine.
You ever blow a cap pushing it in ?

What are you using for a bullet for the hunt?
The .44-77 is a great hunting cartridge.

Where at in the Pinedale area? I have tried all my life to draw a moose permit on the Upper Green.

RE: 50s
Kurt,

I had accurate molds build me this design, which I drew up on a piece of paper and sent Tom to build, after getting firm dimensional fired case measurement with my Jameson brass. I'm going 40:1 with baco paper. About 1/2 of the brass is a good tight grip on the bullet (unresized) and the other half a bit loose based on minor brass variation which is perfect for me.

Don, I will be hunting to the West of Pinedale in unit 22.

Mike
