Looking out the front door

RE: Looking out the front door
Been a very long day. Unloaded the 4 wheeler at 8 this morning, neighbor and I started gathering all of our cattle we could find we had sort of bunched up yesterday. 16 miles from the house.
Another neighbor and his kids had their saddle horses out gathering and sorting.
When I got home just a bit after dark tonite, the 4wheeler was out of gas, covered in mud, and the odometer had about 50 miles on it that it didn't have this morning. But we got the lions share of the cattle home, most in their owners pastures. Found 1 of our cows dead and had to leave a calf where we started from, hopefully she'll get calmed down, or at least Hugh and the boys will get her roped and loaded in a trailer to get her hauled closer to home.
Picked up 2 black bulls we have no idea who they belong to.
Take off again in the morning , go check my south cows and see if I can get a count, check the neighbors cows and water. To muddy to get a pickup into the pastures, and county road is to soft to try and trailer the saddle horses up.

Be safe, and carry a spare can of gas.

Still busy, starting to get a handle on things.
Never even crossed my mind to bring a camera. Probably wouldn't of taken the time to take a picture anyway.

RE: Looking out the front door
No , but that heavy deep snow is just a few miles from here.
Had a bunch of the neighbors yearlings sweep thru some of my cows and drag them off in the heavy winds and rain late last night and early this morning. So we brought them back the 8 or 9 miles and I brought the cows to the house, and sorted the yearlings we couldn't get shed of along the way... Got to see another great sundown, but sure not getting to do much hunting. Poor ol 4 wheeler is going to be wore plumb out if this keeps up.

RE: Looking out the front door
I think we only lost the one cow. Can't say about the calves, haven't been able to get a good count on them yet. Got one bunch of cows home, going to bring the other bunch home tomorrow.
Supposed to start snowing tomorrow night and piddle around thru Tuesday. Time to get them close enough to take care of them.
