High Water
I hope you guys out west are getting some moisture this summer.
The Mississippi in my area is 13 feet above normal and still rising.
We been getting hitting hard. Not sure how much rain we emptied out of the gauge since the first of June till now but one day we got 1-7/10" in about 1/2 hr. It was a gray out sort of like a good winter white out blow. The rain gutters were overflowing big time.

East of the divide there are someplace getting good moisture, some places not much, west of the divide it's awfully dry.
Lots of counties putting out fire bans today, NWS putting out fire weather warnings and red flag warnings all over the place.
In the last couple of weeks we've had 2 fires that have covered close to 2000 acres total, both from dry lightning.
Temperature swings pretty wild, might be close to record setting highs one day and record setting low highs a couple of days later. Gets down into the 40's at night.
Winds have been pretty crazy and 40 mph gusts and steady wind in the 20's not an uncommon thing from one day to the next.
Grasshoppers are in epic numbers from here to nw kansas.
Good news (or maybe they're just trying to cheer folks up) looks like the monsoons might make it up in 10 days or so..

I hope that they don't have a problem at the Nationals like some ranges get shut down.

We have been getting some high winds.I had two trees get pushed over but I think the wet ground has something to do with that the way the roots pulled out. But I also had some big branches break off as well some of the other places near by lost trees also.
Been a strange year so far since January.

RE: High Water
It's been pretty strange weather wise for sure.
Had to laugh at the touron's whining because it was snowing in Yellowstone on July 1at.
