antique colt navy London
I have just purchased a Cold .36 Navy LONDON percussion antique revolver.
all sn are matching, including the lever, wedge and cylinder, bl, and grip frame.

the grips are TWO piece glued together. And are the larger type of the LONDON Colts.
the address i COL. COLT LONDON- but the address part in front is worn off. common to this gun.

Now. the grips have the first 3 numbers if the sn stamped on the center fight side.
VERY faint, but there under magnification.

the grips show age as they should
worn, shrunk and stained.

does anyone know if the split grips were used in London?
Thanks...Ken

a final. the grips are NOT original. made of laminated wood.
so, the gun is very good , and I'm going to replace /restore the walnut grips.
a set is on order.
I'll match the 'red' colt color and age them....

done this before and it' better than keeping plywood grips on it.

OK, the Colt London is all cleaned up, new walnut grips installed and varnished with Amber Violin 1600's varnish. expensive, but it's what Colt used way back. finished project. London on the bottom.Ken
