Welcome to winter in the Rockies...

RE: Too cold to shoot?
Happy New year......

Winter is finally starting to settle in here also. Were supposed to get 6-8" with this snow fall and the temp is starting to drop to - 4 tonight with 30 mph winds. Not as bad as Montana but putting the 6' snow blower on the tractor today that wind cut right through me.
If I wasn't taking off for Oklahoma in the morning to pick up my new shooter this snow could stay on the ground till the man that put it there takes it away again. Big Grin

RE: Too cold to shoot?
We4ll, today we had the annual New Years Day .22 long range gong match up at Merrill, WI.
Temp when we started about 9am, or so was about 9-10 degrees F. This is "Inside/outside"
40 yards standing, then 100, 150 out to 190 yards bench from inside the warm? clubhouse.
Definitely was freezing fingers at the window when shooting or spotting.
Brian Dyrcz Cleaned it with a 40x40, with Arnie spotting him. Tom D came in second with a 39. Arnie came in tied 3rd/4th at 38-missed two standing.
Definitely an "Ice Bowl" ( GB Packers) like shoot.
But, FUN and breaking in the New Year right. Next match, Super Bowl Sunday Feb 13.
Arnie

Good shooting Brian & Tom! You too Arnie and whoever the other guy was!

I for one would be interested in knowing what they used, rifle, sights and ammo?

Jim,
Brian was shooting his CPA Schuetzen with 22 barrel, 20X Lyman STS. Old Wolf Match Tgt-
the old Lapua factory stuff
Tom shot one of his full house Anschuetz bolt rifles, with big scope/ SK Std Plus
Eric shot his CZ 22 bolt rifle, Big modern scope, ammo???
I shot my old BSA Martini 12/15 club rifle/ Lyman STS 15x Old Wolf Match Tgt.
Eric beat me because he only missed one Offhand plus one at 190
I missed two offhand. Cleaned the rest
Arnie. with the almost frozen fingers
