Dean Match results
The mirage and wind gods at Alliance were doing their usual thing with help from their new little friend smoke haze from all the wild fires burning in the west.
Despite that and the heat, Jim B did a bang up job of putting the match together and making it run very smooth.

Don,
TNX. for the scores at Alliance.

I been thinking getting a 1860 Henry and I see you used a .44-40. What is your feeling for the .44? You mentioned the conditions over the weekend how much play did they do with that .44? I see most used a .30 caliber and I have some in the .30 Win and a 95 in the .45-70 as well as the .444, but I was advised by my eye Doc to take a break with the heavy recoiling rifles for a spell till my eyes get a chance to heal after the problem at the Q a couple weeks ago.
I think that little .44 might be just the ticket for a spell.

I was all loaded for this match but held back and stayed home.
I have to go back later next week to get a second checkup to see if all is well.

The 44 wcf works great
The gin on the little soul sight I have on that rifle at the moment needs tighten up and I didn’t have a screw driver small enough to tighten it. So had lots of vertical ?
Shooting 37 gr Oe 3f and the Lyman 205 gr bullet no problem going the 10 rounds per relay

TNX. Don

I always thought the .44-40 or the .38 Win would be a great caliber for this venue.

My 73 carbine in 357 works good too. Think if time allows, might work up some good loads for the 32-20.
Timberlake shot a 25-20 a couple of times and it worked well

I saw George with his .25 before shooting it. I sure wish I still had my Marlin and Win, dark bores and all they shot good. Big Grin
