RE: First Ever Cheyenne match
It's one of the nicest ones I've seen. Just wish they had the ability to stretch out to 1000 yards.

Those pits are nicer than the ones on the 1000 yard range at Ben Avery. Where around Cheyenne did these get put in. I lived in Wheatland until about 8 years ago.

They're northwest of town on the Cheyenne Rifle and Pistol club range. They've been there for a long time, but nobody much except Garand and CMP shooters knew they were there.
I've heard there was a nice set of pits put in up and Douglas several years back , but nobody used them and last I heard everything was shot to pieces.

Don,
Some of the NRA rules say duplex loading is allowed others say black only, what rules is this match going by?
Thanks,
Greg

I would imagine that as this match isn't registered match, and it's mostly just to see if there's some turnout out, bring what ya got. I seriously doubt Dick would turn anybody with a "legal" rifle away.
Speaking of rules, I haven't looked to see , but someone said that the bpcrs matches now list duplex as legal loads?

From what I'm seeing the NRA is allowing up to 20% smokeless in a duplex load, the WHRSA (world historical rifle...) still only allows black only - 20% !!!??? never been there!
Because I've been a little busy the last few years most of what I shoot is loaded with smokeless, I have a new rifle I'm building and focused on, it's seeing duplex loads. Swaying back over to the dark side again -(black) - can't say the performance is any better than that new-fangled smokeless stuff.

RE: First Ever Cheyenne match
I haven't seen an NRA registered bptr match that allows for anything other than blackpowder in quite sometime.
They do have a couple of "all comers" matches at Lodi that allows for any safe load, but oddly enough those don't have any greater participation numbers than the blackpowder only matches.
