RE: 40-90 BN
With all the talk on .40's lately has been giving me a itch to re chamber my .40-65 Browning BPCR or just have another CPA build for one of the longer .40 BN's or straight.
I have a throating reamer for the .40 that will let me open the chamber to a 82 or even longer if I wanted. The 82 would be like the Rhoads chamber.
You guys quit tempting me LOL.

Probably be a good deal just to have a new barrel built for the Browning.
McGowen could contour one of their barrels to fit it.

RE: 40-90 BN
I never dealt with a McGoven barrel Don. I really like the 44-1/2 Stevens action and simplicity more then the Browning. That rifle has been a safe queen for almost 20 years and I had a .45-70 in one also and a couple years ago a guy had a rifle in hand looking for something else and I had the high wall. I gave him the better deal but I feel he had what I wanted so we both ended up happy Smile

Carol's 22 has a McGowen on it. I just ordered a 22 barrel that will go on the Hepburn and turn it from 40-70 to a 22. It's an unturned blank , Pat at CSA will profile it and fit it to the action.
