Barrel for 44-77 Rolling Block
I was looking at the Green Mountain web site and saw they have 3,4 and 5 contours for their 44 cal barrels. I’ve got a #3 on a Old Highwall but am thinking that may be too thin for a 44. I don’t have any experience with a 4 or 5. What would be a good profile for a RB in 44-77? Thanks

Either 3 or 4 for a sporting rifle, 5 would be a good choice for a target rifle.

I put a 3.5 profile .44 barrel on a Pedrosoli rolling block pistol grip action. With the factory wood and sights it tips the scales at about 10.5 pounds. I would suggest at least a 4 or go the the #1 sharps contour.

I have a #4 On a 44 in a Roller and it feels just right to me.
