This thing was somebody's pride and joy at one time, I feel fortunate one that gets to be it's keeper for now. Looking forward to seeing how she'll shoot.
This gunshot was at Lusk.

Don

Great find! Looks like it is in really nice shape. I had two clients use them here on buffs and they worked well. I got to shoot both of them as well and they are accurate.

Kurt, lots of good things that were common and cheap not to long ago are long gone and way over priced now that's for dang sure.

Chris, the JP Lower marked carbine I have chambers and fires 45-70 ammunition just fine.
Rick the trigger on this one is quite a bit smoother and lighter than the Lower gun. I can't help but think when I get this barrel grunged out it's going to be a fine shooter.

Don, you think that checkering is original or someone having a go at it and added at some point ?

RE: Borchardt find
Randy, don't know. I've seen pictures of original rifles with similar checkering, but I wouldn't say it's the real thing.
By the time I get the grunge out of this barrel I'll either have the biggest biceps you've ever seen or one hell of a case of tennis elbow....
