Traditional Deer Hunt with Sharps
Getting closer to deer season here so posting a pic of my deer two years ago with 40-65 Sharps. 350 gr hollowbase paper patch from Hoch mold. GoX 2F. 150 yards offhand sitting on log, top of heart. Barrel sights. Good eating size.
Used an antique Marbles knife from the early 1900s to field dress him. One of the best all around knives ever made and you can shave with it yet.
The rifle is a Ped with brass tacks from an original stagecoach in a pattern taken from an original sharps. This rifle is a lights out shooter and has an ivory front blade sight.

So help me, except for the tacks, that rifle is a dead nuts twin of my Pedersoli 40-65. Same color and all. Nice deer, BTW. Shoot straight, rdnck.

Nice, very nice.

Yes Rick, next weekend with the same rifle I shot the buff with on your place. Might put the scope back on since we can only shoot 3pts or better. Some huge 2 pts running around so I don't want any mistakes. I'm still using my Dad's old Case knife.

Hey Rick, We can compare Marbles knives later. And how about a story on that deer hunt, or your next one? Shoot sharp, Mike

Gussy, well it will be a dead deer then..........if I recall you don't miss.
Yea, I had to upgrade my spectacles again this year.......someday I will have a scope, but I will fight it tooth and nail Smile

Hope all your fruit harvest went well! I remember you telling me about the knife. Those are a treasure!

I really like that 40-65, it shoots well with about whatever you feed it. If I remember right your Roughrider is about a twin to mine also........
Check your PM tomorrow.

Nice going Rowdy Rick. Looks like that 40-65 did a fine job.

Thanks Stephen, just something about hunting in the more traditional fashion that appeals to me, and it looks like to you as well.
