RE: CPA
Steve.
The difference between a case form die and a sizing die is the case form is just a couple thousands tighter then the normal full-length sizing die to allow for the brass spring back when you squeeze down the parent brass like the .45 in this case.
It would be nice if you had an intermediate die like a .44-90 or a .44-70 straight for the first pass. This would aid in keeping the possibility of dents down.
When you start forming this brass from .45-90 if this is the way your going make sure you use a good case lube. To much is just as bad as not enough.
If your going to form the cases from .45 brass I would anneal then about 1/2 way down to make them easier to size down.
Or if your going with the factory brass you might still have to get then sized down depending on the chamber

RE: CPA
Thank you Kurt, I'm a little surprised the need for smaller dimensions to allow for any springback of the brass. I'll look into a 44-90 or 44 die of some order, it would be nice to have few if any issues. Looking like I opened my mouth and get to anneal his brass for him. What are friends for right?

RE: CPA
Steve. I been through that. Using a chamber reamer for making the sizing die it just wont size the brass so the case will chamber.
When I order a reamer I order the sizing reamer also. Even annealing the whole case it still is tough to seat the case until it has been fired a couple times.
When you have the sizing reamer that die you cut with it the case will be identical to the chamber and if that chamber is tight you will seldom have to use the sizing die again unless you damage the case.

RE: CPA
Aha! That would explain why the darn cases are sticking so bad. I was having a hard time figuring that out.
