Looks like they had a good turn out.

RE: Lodi scores
Lodi fed me a good bowl of humble stew this year, but I enjoyed the company of Jim and James Kluskens of Distance Thunder I was squatted with, fine fellers. Both of them.
The weather was not ideal in a long way with the sprinkles we had Sunday and the winds switched like a friendly dogs tail but the hard holders did well under these conditions. This is why they are on top.
I had problems with my new rifle and load using KIK on day 1 and OE on day 2 with the first time using this rifle for long range and I need to do a little more work with it.
Match was run well as usual and fine lot of shooters to spend time with and no grumbling from any of them.

Credit where it's due, looks to me Brent Danielson is on top his game and kicked everybody's ass off the planet. Paper patch bullets I am sure. bobw

RE: Lodi scores
Bob,
I don't know what the other guys shot, but first, third and fifth shot the PP.
Brent don't get much mention for his shooting ability's, but he has his act together shooting his prolate bullet in his .45-70. He has to have to have shot that well this last weekend.
There where several of the top shooters that used the PP bullet. Both of the guys shooting with me used them as well as Mike Thiesen.

RE: Lodi scores
It looks like Brent has really got this stuff figured out. It's nice to see. I think there are a couple of guys using his chamber design there too aren't there?

Chris.

I don't know if anyone has a chamber from his reamer. He sent me a print of his chamber and it is identical to the one I'm having made now since Feb 4th Smile they are a little slow Smile the only difference I see between the two and that is the transition into the lead.
If I ever use that reamer I hope it shoots as well as his rifle.

RE: Lodi scores
Kurt, from what I've read on the Distant Thunder web page, Jim Kluskens used Brent's reamer. I remember Brent saying that 4 or 5 people are using his chamber design now. I still haven't ordered my reamer based on his print. I might use the back end dimensions for Dan's reamer, and the front end from Brent's. If the chambering is done well then I might be able to shoot the same ammunition in both of my .45-70's which could be nice.

I think once you get the bugs worked out of these things they shoot very well. I'm really happy with the new .45-90, even more so after recently switching to Swiss 1.5. I think my wads and alloy are more happy with the Swiss than they are with the OE 1.5. I think the OE 1.5 burns more like FFFg than 1.5Fg. I was able to get reasonably decent SD's using OE 1.5 but I had to use Kenny's wad stack to do it. The Swiss 1.5 seems more gentle, like my old batch of Goex FFg Express and requires less wad.

Anyway that's a bit off topic. It's really good to see Brent and the other PP shooters posting good scores down there.

I didn't know Jim used Brent's reamer in the Hepburn he build from scratch with bar stock. That sure is a beautiful rifle and shoots quite well.

RE: Lodi scores
Interesting thing about Lodi, they shoot 1000 first, then 900, last 800. That sorta changes the whole game.

Funny never see that mentioned, it sure is reflected in the scores one see's shot there, or the spotting teams you have, two different spotters. As in you have a different spotter at each yard line.

Not saying it is a good thing or a bad thing, just different than Raton or Phoenix.
