RE: Model P Colt
Load for the Colt, I'll bet the Marlin will do just fine.
What weight bullet you using if the Colt shoots high?

RE: Model P Colt
It's shooting about 6 inches high at 25 yds. Haven't shot it further, but I'm betting it'll be about spot on at 75 or 100.

Wow-that's quite a-bit.
180 gn bullet is the standard weight for that round, isn't it?
What's your load?

RE: Model P Colt
Yup it's the standard bullet weight and shape. It's doing about 900, spot on where it should be.
Not terribly uncommon to have a Colt shooting that high. I'm just tickled to death they got the barrel screwed in straight and the windage is dead nuts on.

It may be pretty close at 50. I just haven't had enough ammo to really mess with it,,, until tonight. I got a couple hundred bullets cast up, and a box of rounds loaded.
Was looking at the bh209 data, and they're showing a decent load at saami spec pressures, so I may just get a wild hair and dig into Maw's stash of the stuff and see how these 38's like them apples.
Got a can of 3f Eynsford to mess with last summer, but haven't opened it yet either..
Lots of fun to get a cardboard box full of bullets out of a 10lb pot of lead. Smile
