Now that would be nice. I've wondered about "traditional hunting or military sights". Seems that would rule out soule sights. I also like the concept of BPCR or open class for the smokeless shooters but maybe in the end it really makes no difference.
This is my first year of attending matches and I am humbled by the level of organization and effort to pull them off smoothly. My congrats and thanks to all those who commit themselves to keeping the old skills alive.

I shot a LR match last weekend at Lodi, WI. The shooter on the next target in my relay was not doing well, not even fair.
So in the pits I was asking him what he was shooting. He was shooting smokeless powder in a 45-90 Shiloh. He claimed that he was doing very well at matches from 200 to 600 yards, so figured that a moa load shooting 300 yards would be just the ticket for LR, even though some of his friends told him that smokeless would not get the job done a 1K. His extreme spread was somewhere north of 50 fps, and you can imagine the vertical issues he was having. The next day some one gave him pp loaded 45-90 [straight BP] ammo to shoot and it was amazing how well he shot the BP loads.

Mike T, that's a point I have brought up many times. Just because a load is shooting decent at 600 or less, doesn't mean boodiddle when it comes to the long range stuff. Been there done that too many times
How did the Lodi match go? haven't seen any reports on it yet.
