1000 yds today

RE: 1000 yds today
A good backstop saves a lot of spent ammo.
Carol shot first this morning and the ground was damp enough that it was almost impossible to see the bullet splash in the dirt with a miss. But finally she whacked a soap weed and sent chunks of it flying so then I knew we needed her to add about 5 minutes left...
We have shot this target enough now to be starting to get clued in on what changes need to be made when we see a bullet kissin the dirt. When we don't see anything and the steel doesn't talk to us, then dropping 5 minutes isn't a bad thing, unless the reason we didn't see dirt or hear the steel is because one of those poor old tires caught hell again.
