curious brass tumbling question

I tumble my brass in ceramic media from Shiloh, cleaning agent from Buffalo Arms, a good shot of Dawn and let her roll, brass was not shinny on inside, next time I did the same and added some "lemon juice concentrate" brass still not shinny on inside, the last time I tumbled some brass I used "lime juice concentrate" instead of lemon and the brass came out shinny on the inside also, I am not a chemist so I never thought that there would be any difference in lemon or lime concentrate. the time clock on each tumbling session was the same within 10 minutes
