GGC July results.
Just in from Micheal Rix

July 7th 2018
GGC BPCR silhouette match results.

The match weather was sunny with highs in the high 90’s. Winds were light but Oh so very tricky! Many of us experienced high/low problems at the longer ranges. Hot and tricky were the words heard over and over today as shooters came off the shooting line. As is the case often, a few riflemen had no trouble and shot great scores!
A GGC range wide powder outage shut down the PA and bell system for a few hours in the middle of the match, but I guess the utility company fixed the problem and power was restored by the end of the match.

A few old friends we don’t see often enough showed up to shoot, and a few of our Wyoming friends made the trip down too. Thanks to everyone for coming to the match! When the match is well attended there is a little more excitement. The twenty or so competing this month made the match a real joy. Thanks to everyone for making our BPCR match great!

New-ish BPCR rifleman, Jim Flagg has had rifle/gunsmithing problems and a few false starts going back a few months. Jim attended with a barrowed rifle from Doc Bement this month. Jim was able to actually both compete and complete his first BPCR silhouette match. Jim did well and I hope he enjoyed it enough to return! It was good having him at the match. Jim, I am sure when your own rifle is back to you, it will help your scores too.

Of note, Dan Womer until now, shooting in A class, shot a 26 which is a AAA class score (way to go!) and bumped up into the next highest class = AA. In his new AA class, he was just edged out of a win there by one point by Jim Rodebaugh shooting a 27.

A Class first Don Rippe 13
AA Class first Jim Rodebaugh 27
AAA Class first Joe Kapler 29
MASTER Class first Cody Smith 29
Match Winner Lee Wolff 30
The rest of us just did our best.

Chicken Pool Winner Lee Wolff shooting 5 chickens
-Joe K. shot five chickens as well, but Joe,you have to enter to win.
