Interesting you would put that one out there Kurt. Good endorsement! Was just commenting a week or so ago to a friend I shoot with over in the Okanogan Valley about the 457671 (http://levergun-scoundrels.com/thread/49...elp?page=3). Its a levergun forum but the Single Shots are starting to outnumber the repeaters. He bought a second mold and removed the gas check and played with both for a while much like you say before settling on the unmodified one. I like your suggested changes to the lube grooves. I understand I won't find one of those Ideal molds. Mostly just wanting to baseline them in a drawing, then steal characteristics and play around with modifications in the TNT software before going to a Brooks or Boomer or whomever. The 671 now extends my list to four candidates (Ideal 457132, Lyman 457121, Lyman 457671 and a Sharps nose I saw of unknown mnfg or mold #. Bob (who you referred me to) sent me a photo. If I can recall how to post pictures I'd post that picture of that Sharps bullet. I'm anxious to mic the nose on that one. Thanks a bunch!
