I should of updated this but have been busy with other things.
Anyway last week we were in Sidney Ne. and just happened to stop by a quaint little sporting goods store out along the interstate....
They had there a good selection of Henry's, one of which is the standard gun with the octagon barrel, and it was priced at $329,,, Carol really liked the rifle, and so we loaded up the visa with the rifle and one of those 2500 round cans of federal champion ammo.
I did tell her she might be considered one of them right wing radicals, what with a rifle and 2500 rounds of ammo and all...
Anyway we got home a few days later, and the bugger shoots rather well. I did have to adjust the slide in the buckhorn sight to get the poi, somewhat in agreement with the poa. I think this rifle with it's buckhorn and brass bead front sight is fully capable of being competive at most 22 "gong" style matches as to date it has shown perfect ability to hit the NRA official 22 chicken from 50 yds.. that was done with the Remington golden ammo in the bulk box from Walmart that is several years old and oft the object of disdain from most internet marksmen..
Further testing will need be done to see if this thing really can shoot or not..
