Old E residue

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to this but high winds, heat and slippery rocks have gotten in the way.

About an hour ago, I fired 20 rounds of the same lot of ammunition that produced the brown stain last Sunday. Clean up was normal. I did not observe any of the dragon's blood berries after firing. Temperature was 84-85 degrees, about 10-12 degrees cooler than last Sunday. Load is .45-70, 71 grains Old E 2Fg, .003 paper card wad under a 46-510 P Accurate bullet compressed sufficiently to seat the bullet (about 3/8 inch). This ammo is identical with what was shot on Sunday last in two different rifles. I wondere if this is a phenomena of temperature? I'll have to grit my teeth and shoot when it is hotter.
