Stephen I didn't get a good look at the blood but it appeared to be on the near side shoulder, but the blood trail started with blood splatter on both sides, then moved to the near side and then just quit. The way he hit the ground I thought sure he was dead... Wondering if like you say , high in the back or maybe just across the brisket. Blood was a bright red color but not frothy.
