Hello, everyone. Back in the early 80's, there were local BPCR shoots..fairly short range affairs..50 & 100yds..a few 200yd matches. I was using an original Winchester High-Wall in .38-55. Slight roughness ahead of chamber, but would group in 1" at 100yds..if I did my part. I tried just about every combination I could think of..but I never could get that thing to shoot using any kind of wad under the bullet. It's funny, we didn't even know about blow-tubes then. I had to clean every 3 shots to maintain accuracy. Even using smokeless, it won't tolerate a wad. Now in my .40's, I use a .030" veg. fibre wad with both black & smokeless with improved accuracy..go figure?
