Rifle barrels

RE: Rifle barrels
Kurt, I think the Douglas XX barrels must be pretty decent. My newer CPA has a .32-40 Douglas XX barrel too. I've only tried that barrel once and I think it could be quite good. With a breech seated bullet from Brooks that has the grease grooves like a Saeco 200gr and the nose of the Hoch 322200, it put 8 into under 1/2 minute high and just under a minute wide at 40 rods. Mind you that was with smokeless.

I like the CPA's bu find them very fiddly. I have to watch the screws like a hawk. My new one has twice loosened the barrel screw in the middle of a day's shooting. The upper tang screw and the hammer pivot screw come loose often too. But, if I keep on top of all of these screws, these just might be my most accurate rifles.

I hope that new barrel works well for you.

Chris.
