Don, I know you would hate to do that, your such a kind and caring person, but if it makes you feel any better, one of the Siamese that I have is an original caliber, unmodified model, I think it is an 8X52, and it is really unattractive. The metal is all in all not bad but the wood is kind of oil soaked and very dark. The bore is very dark. Not really something I would want to shoot and it does kind of take away from the stable mates in the safe. It also doesn't smell all that well. A very strong odor of Cosmoline, so I am sure that all of its stablemates would not mind it being replaced in the safe by a canoe paddle.
