RE: C. Sharps Big Fifty?
Eric, I'd say go ahead and try that .50/90 with the 1 in 26". I have a couple of them with that twist and find them doing fairly well with bullets from 473 grains (paper patch) up to 550 grain (greasers). One fact that sold me on the 1 in 26" twist was a conversation with Don who has looked all through an original Sharps '74 in .50/70 and it also has a 1 in 26" twist. That led me to get another .50/70 which is doing great with the standard 450 grain bullets. It does seem to me that my .50/70 is more accurate than the .50/90s. Let's just say that I do better shooting with the .50/70 and that is out to 200 yards. Shoot sharp, Mike
