I don't know of anybody that can shoot well with out a consistant contact with the stock.
You see a lot of strap on comb risers and check pieces on rifles on the line at Creedmoor matches.

All the MORE REASON to not buy rifles with traditional low comb stocks! Stay with the Shiloh LRE or the Sporter #1 which have higher combs!

The addition of a comb pad works well also!
