Kurt, I'm pretty sure my '74 in .44/77 has the 1 in 17 rot and that's one reason I went with 1 in 18 for the roller. That gun will usually be used with 400 grain bullets at short to mid ranges. Mostly for fun, for sure. As yet I haven't hunted with my Sharps .44/77 but I do want to. Shoot sharp, Mike
