That new rifle of yours should be just as good (and it sure looks nicer than my 40++ yr old Remington). I've used BLC2 for powder ever since I got the rifle. The best bullet I used was a Hornady SX, the old ones. I'm not sure how good the new ones are. After I ran out of those, I went to CCI hollow pt for varmints.
