I patched some 1/14 and 1/12 but the recovered bullets showed me that I did not patch them tight enough to bore. They were patched .001" under bore and they did not get bumped up enough to fill the grooves, in fact they hardly had any land marks on the shank. The bullets patched .002 over bore fared well.
I don't think anything harder than 1/16 is over kill, but that is my thought on what I have looked at. Even 1/16 it's best to patch 1 or 2 thousands over bore depending on the paper.

Don, those dimples look large but they are very small, you can barely see them in the cavity or feel them on the bullet.
