RE: Indian head penny front sight
I'm holding in my hand a front sight taken (temporarily) from my original 1876 Winchester 45 60 Centennial lever action rifle.
It has the Winchester base and the front sight blade is from an old coin . It's not copper, and not quite nickel, gold????
I've never had it tested, and should. It was hand fashioned, and well done. When I took it to the range. it printed
2 inches, center, at 100 yards. These guns could shoot. 63 2f and the Gould hollow point it originally used.
SO. your front coin sight is authentic. (it will go back on the gun if I ever sell it....)
