Winter let up a little and I went to an old homestead, around 1900, to metal detect. I find empties all the time. Today was another first, a 40-60. I haven't cleaned it up yet to see the full head stamp.

RE: First
I got a detector last spring. Mostly looking for old coins, but so far I found a loaded 25-20, and a 25-35, 30-30, 32 special and 38-56 case. Plus a couple old shotgun headstamps and a partial bar of lead in the gun department.

RE: First
This most of what I found last year. Didn't keep a lot of 22 or pistol cases, just dropped them in the brass bucket for recycle. Had at least a couple buckets of pull tabs and cans, 2-3 buckets of scrap iron. No old coins just newer clad stuff. The one shotgun head I did keep, upper right, is a 10 ga.
