This is a brass question so I'll ask here in the brass thread.

Even though I don't have the rifle done yet looking at all the different suppliers it seems that Winchester brass is out of supply on all but Brownells site and it is on sale so I figure better get some now before it is two late all around. Then on to Starline as it is available on most all online sites.
I am trying to decide how many to get of each or just win brass. Hornaday is real expensive and haven't seen a seller or price for Norma.
I am not going to be a major competitor or spending a lot of time at the ranges as there aren't many long ranges in my area. Have to travel a lot sometimes.

Don, I'm looking at the 90 brass and it is listed as Winchester and Sharps. Is there a difference in the rim size that I have to worry about? Where I'm looking (at Natchez), the S'line is "Sharps," and the "Win" is Jamison.

Do the Jamison. Beside the obvious quality advantage to the Jamison, the only difference is the headstamp.

I'm done with Starline. I shot everyday for the last 5 days shooting some new cut down 2.6 to 2.5 bases and had 4 pull apart at the mid section and two cases have identical cracks at this same spot. The once that pulled apart look identical at the same location and the way it separated. These did bot show signs at the base but these are at midsection.
Now Gary before you ask no, no moisture in the chamber. No sizing lube on the cases. No plastic wads. just 030" fiber wads. clean cases and .100" compression.
Starline has been contacted twice with no response. I have 600 cases I'm about to box them up and send them to them and tell them to stick them. I'm done with them!!!
If I had a sloppy chamber and full length sized them at every loading I could expect puled brass, but this chamber is so tight it will only take a PP bullet and the brass does not need sizing. This new brass has not been shot more then five loadings and some that pulled apart was on the first and second loading.

Gary I got this brass last April and I didn't shoot much last summer after I got home from Baker and the Q. I like to shoot new brass at least 3 times before loading for matches and make the final trim for length. Some of the brass I shot twice and the cases that separated have three and 4 loadings on them.
Heck I'm shooting old Bell brass that is 25 years or older and what I lost of that is from loading, getting crushed seating a bullet. Never had one separate.

Know what you mean. I've only had 1 S'line case separate on me, and it was my fault.
The S'line cases I use in my .45-90, I bought when I got the rifle. That's almost 6 yrs ago.
Did you anneal the cases?
