Shocked  First Kids weekend at the ranch
Last weekend was the first "Kids" weekend at the ranch-----------drizzley cold and nasty but the critters were moving a bit, the rut is just beginning in south texas

Han's son Josh decked this nice non-typical :
Super older buck that's already made his donation to the gene pool

My grandson Caleb executed this pig at 150 yards with "his" rifle-----at least its a single shot-----through the eye DRT, natural born killer Smile

Hope to get back and see about breaking in the new Shiloh this weekend, weather should be perfect to kick the rut in high gear

Keep well--Stay safe

Great weekend it was! Nothing like getting the kids involved in hunting! Too many just want to do finger exercises on dang cell phones!!

Gentlemen it was a grand time-----------------between the kids, mud, critters and cooking it wore Han's and i out. We always have fun with the "boy's" the only "screen" at the ranch is a TV with movies----Fred Bear's stuff is a favorite Smile

Don----22-250, nosler 60 grain partitions work pretty well when placed correctly----Caleb is becoming a good field shot---very deliberate, one shooters teach thatSmile

Rick---its all about the kids when ya get right down to whats really important-----they have an adventure whenever we get them together -- we have a range out to 500 yards they can burn a bunch of powder in a couple of days !!!!!!!!

Good Hunting

Hi Don. , that's exactly the reason. Shooting is mostly mental and young minds soak up the important things when they understand the reasons
The Smith is building a 7mm08 bolt gun for his birthday next summer, we. Start 22 silhouette in the spring ?
Seems like a really fun way to see if he has interest in target games

Oh man, getting those kids into 22 sillouette will bust the bank buying guns and ammo. That's a great game for kids of all ages..

Those liners are good, and they digest most ammunition real well. Also keep your eyes peeled for Steven's 44's, you can find those in really good shape for 800 and under.
