RE: Merry Christmas to me
Nice little pick up there Don. 32/20 is a great little cartridge. Only just recently sold off a Browning #53 in the same chambering. Always thought a single action army in that calibre would be a lot of fun. Keep us in the loop with your Christmas present Tongue

JB, the SAA in 32-20 is a heavy bugger, and the muzzle blast from the thing is deafening, but fun to shoot non the less. Been thinking maybe I should look around for one of the Italian clones to go with this rifle...

Nice looking rifle Don. You buy anymore this year you will have to expand the closet to stick them in. Smile

Nice find Don. I didn't know that they had made many in 32 wcf. I will also agree that a SAA in 32 is very heavy and finding one these days my guess is will be hard, even the Italian ones. A long time ago I did purchase a new SAA from EMF, I went with the 7 1/2 length. And yes it is very heavy but the things shoots very well. with the right load it will do 2" or so at 25. Yes they make a lot of noise but they are a lot of fun to shoot otherwise.
That 73 should be a heck of a lot of fun to play with. Add a tang sight and you have a fun gun par excellence.

Finding one of those knockoff 73's in 32-20 has been sort of like looking for hens teeth, for darn sure.
Looking forward to shooting the thing when it gets here.

RE: Merry Christmas to me
Yes Don I understand them being a bit on the hard to find side. What doesn't make any sense to me is this. There are many of these rifles being used for the CASS or Cowboy Action shooting. I have never shot it but from what I have seen of it, speed seems to be one of the things that they have a need for. To me it makes little sense to buy something that shoots a big case and a heavy fat bullet and then load it down. To my way of thinking it would make more sense to use something that all ready has little recoil no matter how you load it. Thus to me the 32-20 would seem to be the ideal rifle/ctg combo. I know also that when the 92 take downs first started to be imported from someplace other than south america they were listed as being available in 32-20 but last I looked at the Taylor catalog that caliber is no longer available.
If you could get one of the copy's of the Colt Lightening in 32, that would about be the ultimate in speed shooting rifle with little to no recoil.
Oh well, what do I know any way. I will be, along with many others I guess, very interested in hearing how the new toy performs.
be well
Sam
