I'm thinking of trying out 22 silhouette---------could someone give me an idea of the normal barrel length for the 22lr

Those shooting the sport seem to like shorter barrels. Off hand shooting is wiggle time so less barrel time is good or so the thought goes. Anything 20 inches or under looks to be the norm.

Might start with one of the Crossno liners, get a feel for the game, and then go for a dedicated rifle.

Thought about that Don--------just getting a feel for the 22 games right now-------i'll go to our next club match (whenever we have a 5 saturday month we shoot a 22 BPCR silhouette match) and test drive a few ---- ya never know what deals ya might turn up till ya start lookin.
The general texas Whitetail season opens saturday----------hope to at least get some nice pictures if i don't find one bigger that what i have on the wall

Well just be forewarned Dave, the 22bpcr is a nasty lil addictive thing. Next thing you know you won't even blink at paying 8$ a box for 22 shells.. and buying them a case at a time!
So best advice would be to look but DON't touch

Yup and have a DANDY squirrel rifle
