Wind Chart ? - Semtav - 03-23-2013 ---------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------- -----3---------------------------------------------------------- ---------4------------------------------------------------------ -------2-------------------------------------------------------- -----------------5---------------------------------------------- ---------------1------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------6--------------------------------- -----------------------------12--------------------------------- -----------------------------------------7---------------------- --------------------------------------------11------------------ ----------------------------------------------------------10---- ---------------------------------------------------------8------ --------------------------------------------------------------9- Anyone care to dispute this chart ???? (wind direction in time compared to 12 O'Clock wind) RE: Wind Chart ? - Don McDowell - 03-23-2013 I guess I don't get the center orientation for your chart? and windspeed? The Windchart that Shiloh and Jim Terry sells works extremely well. It is based off of alot of research and actual shooting that Kenny Wasserburger put into it, and while it's main bulllet is a 540 gr 45 cal, it is amazingly close with alot of other heavy for caliber bullets. I keep one in the lid of my line box. RE: Wind Chart ? - Semtav - 03-23-2013 I've got that chart too. this was just a rough draft of where the bullet goes compared to 12 o'clock wind not to scale ie a 7 o'clock wind would be lower than a 5 oclock wind at the same speed. would a 5 oclock wind put a bullet higher than a 6 oclock wind? RE: Wind Chart ? - Don McDowell - 03-23-2013 Yes a 5 oclock wind will drive the bullet a bit further up and to the left than a straight 6. A 7 oclock wind should be about the same elevation as a 5 but move to the right. RE: Wind Chart ? - Semtav - 03-23-2013 that is where this chart deviates, a 5 o'clock is higher than 6, a 7 o'clock is lower than a 6 RE: Wind Chart ? - Don McDowell - 03-23-2013 Unless I'm missing something the elevation impact should be relatively the same at 5 &7, 10&2,3 &9. RE: Wind Chart ? - hipshot - 03-24-2013 Brian, I think the wind chart is about right for 800 + yards and about 8 mph. |
