BPCR rule book - Steveu - 08-27-2023 All, Is there a current rule book (2022 or 2023) for BPCR or 22 BPCR? I have looked online and find old books that say scopes are not allowed. What I am looking for is if a Lyman jr targetspot is legal? I believe the objective lens is less than 1”. Cheers, Steve RE: BPCR rule book - Don McDowell - 08-27-2023 If you go to the NRA competitions page, the rule books are there for bpcr and BPTR. If the mounts on your lyman are ceclicked it should be legal. If you'll rather not mess with those mounts you could put a set of the DZ Unertl mounts on it. here's the 22 bpcr rules https://www.22bpcra.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/22BPCRA-Rules-1-1-2020.pdf Scopes have as far as I know always been legal. The only place I'm aware of that doesn't allow scopes is the Creedmoor 150 thing in Oak Ridge. RE: BPCR rule book - Don McDowell - 08-27-2023 https://competitions.nra.org/media/8911/2023-silhouette-rifle-rules.pdf Scroll down the page to 3.4.1 RE: BPCR rule book - Steveu - 08-28-2023 Thanks Don! I was looking for BP and thought it was a separate book like BPTR. Unfortunately, the Lyman is not legal because of the adjusting ring on the objective lens is greater than 1”. It is 1.175” and supposedly an original Winchester A5 measures 1.020”. I don’t own either of these and found some posts on the Shiloh forum that had the dimensions listed. Cheers, Steve RE: BPCR rule book - Don McDowell - 08-28-2023 Well now you know, and can move on. But for the most part I doubt anyone would have a snit about your Lyman, up until the point you outscored one or more of the pretty people, then things might get sporty. If you don't have a scope but are looking to get one might take a look at the DZ scope, or an MVA 23 inch in #2 mounts, or one of their B5's in the #2 mount for sillhouette and 22 bpcr. Cheers, Steve RE: BPCR rule book - beltfed - 08-28-2023 More and More venues don't give a Damn about the NRA rule book. We are out to have fun, not get picky nosey Arnie RE: BPCR rule book - Steveu - 08-28-2023 I agree Arnie, but with my luck I will beat that one picky nosey guy!? RE: BPCR rule book - Nuclearcricket - 08-28-2023 It is very possible that the original Winchester scopes were oversize due to tolerances and such. I have one of the MVA copy's and I checked it, It measured just 1" and that is on the knurl at the eyepiece end. I think that the DZ scope runs very close to the 1" limit but dont' have one to check. The Unertl small game scope is in the 7/8" range both front and rear. Sam RE: BPCR rule book - Steveu - 08-28-2023 Sam, I am in the market for a 6X Unertl small game. I have found a few 4x but no 6X yet. I will be using a Malcolm 6X in the meantime. |
