Had some spare time - Kurt - 08-04-2021 So I went down in the basement and played with the mill. ![]() I opened up a .40 caliber mould at the base to make it patched to .403" DD .300" long. .404" patched is the largest diameter that will fit in my fired .40-65 case. It has a very tight chamber with a 4º/1º-30" funnel compound lead. I have 50 cast and will shoot them tomorrow to see how they fly. And I made some cherries for the .44 but I have to harden them yet and find some good cast iron to make some blocks. This will be a good winter project. RE: Had some spare time - J.B. - 08-07-2021 Must be great to have skills ! They look pretty tidy Kurt...similar to the 44 that Rick at Kal did for me. Looks to be similar to a Metford ? Keep us posted. J.B. |
