I got a report from Dick Savage and it sounds like you guys had the conditions we had at Lodi.
I see a lot of shooters dropped out for the Buff match. Was it the conditions that they dropped out? or just no interest in it?
I wish that the Alliance did not fall so close to Lodi. I really like the Alliance shoots, well run shoot and a lot of fine people attending it. I almost went but not spending time during the winter casting and loading I was just to cramped getting ready between Lodi, Harris and Alma shoots all just a week apart and I guess I can say they are in my back yard with just a 2 1/2 to 6 1/2 hr drive.

I don't know about the shooters. I do know one didn't shoot Sunday because his firing pin broke and nobody had a replacement, one can't shoot sitting.
There were 3 more shooters for the buffalo match than the long range.
The conditions were pretty rough on Saturday and Sunday. The flashers weren't working most of the time on Saturday, so there may of been more hits than scored on some targets and less than scored on others.
The winds were fishtailing pretty good, around 18-20 mph on Saturday, not as bad Sunday, and the mirage was so bad at times you couldn't hardly make out the targets thru the spotting scope much less thru iron sights.
There were clouds moving in and out on Saturday so the light was changing bad, I know when we shot the 700 I had to come up about 15 minutes from the first shot and then come back down some, during the course of that target.
Even on sunday if you weren't looking thru the scope you couldn't see the flasher on the buffalo and the bear.

I think Jim said there were 4 flashers shot off the target in the first relay on Saturday.

The flashers are in danger close by the target
The two at the Q are far enough away from the Buff but I heard a hit at the last shoot where it did not flash so they can fail also. Shooting prone has an advantage over sitting on a stool, it was for me anyway but there is no way that I can lay on the ground anymore and finish a relay for the pain. I tried it again at the last silhouette match on the Turkey line and I had a hard time getting on the swinger and had to go for score and missed all 5 shots. I told my shooting partner to pull his Matt and sticks when they went to reset and I put my stuff up and cleaned the bank
It just needs a little practice getting used to shooting at a unsteady position. We had the conditions at Lodi you guys had last weekend and the wind gusts moved my scope cross hairs to the next target frame pushing me around and if I could I would have been laying low on the grass.
But the gong shoots we all shoot with the same conditions and sitting. If we want to compete we have to adjust to the game.
Look how well Dick Savage shoots with his severe tremors. It amazes me how well he adjusted to that.
