1000 yd World Championship - Don McDowell - 11-13-2015

New match with a very interesting format coming, that will replace the Creedmoor cup at Phoenix.

while the format is quite understandable, both from a workload point of view, and the popularity of coached shoots, as well as paid markers, I was disappointed to lose the format of the creedmoor cup where you shot and coached yourself.
the trip statewide was awefully close but will now be reappraised.
there seems to be a little going on in canada that way as well as one shoot in the u.s. where you shoot like a man.
keep safe,
bruce.

And here I thought the fee was high for the Lodi Creedmoor match Big Grin

Don do you know why the "no coaching" rule was dropped? I really liked that idea.

Thanks,

Chris.

Bruce there is still the match at Byers with no coaching. If you do plan a trip to America you should take that one in.

Chris.

Chris I have no idea why they did what there. I had heard at one point it would be an 8,9 and 1000 and it would be shooters choice spotter or no, but this format looks to be a challenge in and of itself.

Bruce , Chris is right , the High Plains challenge at the Byers match is a good one. 3 strings at 1000 yd, no coaching after the the sighter shots.

Bruce, Eron Ahmer runs the match. Don put up a link to the 2015 match earlier this year. It should be this:

thanks chris.
I have heard eron is a nice guy.
if I can go there, I will have to lower my sight setting about 7 to 10 points due to elevation of byers.
