W/B a .44 barrel - Kurt - 12-21-2014 I'm looking for a 1/16 or 1/17 ROT 32" 1.250 at the breach 1" + at the muzzle round .438/.446 barrel octagon is ok also. Kurt, Have you thought about Oregon Barrel Company? Another who could make that, I'm pretty sure, is John Taylor. Shoot sharp, Mike RE: W/B a .44 barrel - Kurt - 12-22-2014 Mike. My .44-75 Ballard is with a barrel from him. It has a awful deep groove. But it might be OK, don't know yet. RE: W/B a .44 barrel - Mike - 12-22-2014 (12-22-2014, 04:21 PM)Kurt Wrote: Mike. I thought you already had a barrel from Oregon. I've got one too, going on a rolling block. The action is barreled now, wood isn't fitted yet. RE: W/B a .44 barrel - Kurt - 12-22-2014 It's hard to find a .438/.446 barrel. I called Ron Smith a couple days ago to order a gain twist but he s not setup for the .438-.446. RE: W/B a .44 barrel - Mike - 12-22-2014 Kurt, You say your Oregon barrel has deep grooves. Have you slugged that barrel? Just wondering. Shoot sharp, Mike RE: W/B a .44 barrel - Iron Coyote - 12-22-2014 Kurt If it is of any help,Track of The Wolf is showing some Green Mountain barrels in stock. Thnx Lots Bob
RE: W/B a .44 barrel - Kurt - 12-22-2014 Bob. Thank you. I called TOW and GM about that barrel for the HVY .44 Sharps. Everything is OK except the tulip flare. It's not long enough to cut threads on for the CPA. I have to call Gail to make sure. Kurt RE: W/B a .44 barrel - Kurt - 12-22-2014 Mike. No I did not slug the barrel. Paul at CPA measured it when he mounted the barrel and stamped the dimensions on the underside of the barrel. RE: W/B a .44 barrel - Mike - 12-22-2014 (12-22-2014, 09:29 PM)Kurt Wrote: Mike. And are the grooves deeper than you expected? I'm curious because I haven't slugged or measured my barrel by Oregon. |
