I am in south western North Dakota north east of Sentinel Butte. We moved here from KY in order to avoid jobs and work and stuff. Mostly succeed but have to watch out. Every time Grace or I go some where, some low life is trying to hire one or both of us to do something. I am still working at the airport and keeping them flying. Nothing about an airplane is cheap except the owner. As we both go back to when tanks had rifled guns and big diesel engines, Fort Knox has become a sad place since they painted over the Armor insignia on the water tower. The ranges have gone silent; I do so miss the sounds of night Table VIII on Yano!!
Darn you Emil,
You had to go and bring up that Ft. Knox stuff and get me all nostalgic for those big diesel engines pushing big rifles around. You could not make me sadder if you put motor oil in my lube pot. Grace and I will be watching for you to hit our scoria drive.

Robert Pierce, raised in Richland, WA (SE WA State) home of Hanford Atomic Works where research was done for the Atomic Bomb of WWII. Served the country (and kept a hippy from being drafted) in the US Army from 1967-1970. Left military life and went through Plumbing and Steamfitting apprenticeship and wound up welding pipe on many of the nation's nuclear reactors. Traveled from one end of the US to the other, welded up one side of the pipe and down the other. Worked my way to a retirement with Unocal Oil when the major construction work on the reactors ended. Retired now, living happily in Pasco, WA, watching my three (one more on the way) grandkids grow with my sweetheart wife, Leisa. I really enjoy this BPCR thing, everything about it. I stretched my legs last summer and shot in competition matches in Spokane, WA. Met some fine shooters there and made some good friends to boot. I can honestly say I learned all I know about the sport from other shooters like Lumpy Grits (Gary) and Kenny Wasserberger, to list just a couple. I'm indebted to them. I've called Gary on the phone many times, and he filled my ear with good sound information. Kenny, well, I'm pretty near shooting his 45 2 7/8" pp load. What a helpful individual! Thank you both for your help. I own two Shilohs and am having one more built.

I'm from 'hot country' aka North Louisiana and am playing the part of the 'Lonely Maytag Repairman' as there's noone in the area that knows what BPCR is! I can't shoot worth a krap and am constantly burning powder trying to shoot a decent group from long range! I think my rifles have bent barrels! Gonna be 102F here tomorrow and we're slowly being stuffed into the pressure cooker! One of the things I've always wanted to do is fly airplanes but my eyes are so bad the Docs wouldn't ever pass me (reckon that's why I can't hit the target??) so in retirement I just baby-sit my grandkids, mow grass, and keep a grin on the face of the owner of Powder, Inc. up in Arkansas! Dang...sure wish I could have flown those airplanes!

You might savor the heat. We had to dig out the winter clothes on Friday as it got cold again. It is a bit over 40 thi AM with 30 mph winds and light rain showers. Good to be able to shoot to the 4 points of the compass, always a range wind.

Dad was a lifer, USAF, raised in South Central Indiana, and Eastern Tenn. Joined the Army and after 20 years figured out how to get out. Played Cops and Robbers for 13 years in Colorado and then finally became a "Born again Hoosier". Been playing with wood for a number of years and spend a lot of time making sawdust and few projects. Been shooting too many years to count and mostly with original 19th century rifles. Allready see some old friends on this forum.

Born in NW Iowa, schooled in CO, work transferred me around the country and settled in the Atlanta area since '73 (long enough to make me a dyed in the wool Reb). The only thing that keeps me from resident status is I hate sweet ice tea.

I like the site! Already see some familiar names registered.
Born in Missouri, grew up in San Diego and retired in Phoenix.
30+ years running a fab/machine shop which is now my son's.
Been running the BPCR matches in Arizona for awhile so I'm looking forward to doing a little less running and alot more shootin.
Like Kidwell I joined because it's getting harder and harder to be called a junior member in anything.
