Don I have an 1894 CS Marlin in 32-20. It's so much fun to shoot that I bought a 32-20 in a colt clone to go along with it, 5 1/2 in barrel, had to turn the barrel to get it to shoot with the same loads. We set the Gong up at home and shoot out to 100 yards with both of them.

I don't think I ever shot that old 92 I had past 100 yds, but I'm thinking if a person was careful about loads it could shoot to 200 and maybe a bit further with some decent accuracy.
What loads are you shooting in your guns Bill?

LOL Don, I do agree with you on logic and CAS. The one really big thing I have seen that I guess really goes against logic is having a pump shotgun and loading it one shell at a time. I will admit that those that do it that way and are at or near the top of the game are damn good at it but it still doesn't make any sense to me. I guess for the most part I will just stick to my single shots and know I have the horse power to get the job done one shot at a time.

Yup, if I'm taking a pump shotgun into an armed standoff, I'm dang sure just going to load 2 shells at a time,,,, yup yup that's the way you win gun fights... LOL

Just got home, friend got a trapdoor model 1884 and I was checking it out. My load for the 32-20 that shot well in the Marlin and Colt clone was 115 grain Lyman RNFP in Starline brass with 5.2 grains of Unique set off by CCI small rifle primers. Also I shot 9.0 grains of H-110 in the rifle with the same bullet.

I've heard some good things about lilgun in the 32-20.Hopefully we find out next week if it's good or not.

Got the rifle yesterday afternoon. Wind is still howling, but I gave it a quick whirl, and this thing is going to be a shooter. That 7.3 grs of lilgun with the 120 gr bullet gives enough snap it may be a good cause to break out the chrono and see just what is happening.. Accuracy seemed good for the conditions, the buffs at 25-75 yds were kept swinging, the 100 yd buff got his bell rung more than once but nothing to brag on to much as the wind was raising to much olned at that distance..
Next stop will be to get some bullets cast up and fill some cases with Eynsford 3f.

Hey Ranch, Good doin's! And get that chronograph out when you shoot the .32/20 loads with the OE 3F, maybe compare those speeds with some 2F loads as well. We can't get enough data. Shoot sharp, Mike

Merry Christmas Don. Had the Uberti 1873 in 44-40 about 20(?) years ago, long before I could really appreciate firearms. Must be why we just ordered a 1952 Win '94 in 30-30, hoping to hook our son.
