Shiloh will drill and tap the holes in the proper place. They might put the bases on for you, but it's not a hard thing to do when you get the rifle and scope. They might do the whole enchilada for you, but that's something you'll need to ask them about.
If you have a good hard case that is big enough you can leave the scope on. Taking it off and on isn't that big of a deal, but having an inch pound torque screw driver will make reinstalling it go much smoother.

Mounting the scope and taking it off is no problem.
Just make sure when you have the barrel tapped that you mention which scope you will be using.
The A scope will take a different spacing other than the 7.2" block spacing that the MVA Win B-5 scope or some of the other scops like the DZ scope.
I have 3 MVA and 3 DZ scops and prefer the DZ scops over the MVA because of the Unertl mount they use over the MVA.
The 7.2" spacing of the blocks make it very sensitive making sight adjustments. This is what my blocks are spaced (7.2") but if I decide to keep this scope I will drill and tap the barrel for the 10.34" bases. it's very easy to over adjust with the 7.2". I have to have a flashlight to make windage adjustments when shooting under a covered firing line or even a magnifying glass to see windage adjustments.
I don't have that new front mount that they offer for the A scope but to me it looks like it's awful high ???? I stayed with the other front mount with the wind gauge adjustments.
Choosing between the 8X and 10X you made a good choice with the 8X.

Final, final scope decision after talking to MVA, not using the new mount going with the silhouette mount so I can get to 1K yards, the new mount only goes to 600 .
Thank you Don and Kurt for the info , Shiloh will mount the blocks @ 10.34” spacing.

Don , you were ever so right about the Shiloh 1877’s , easier take down than a 1874. Just got it waxed up and getting sights installed.

Very happy with this rifle ,I was going to put a fancy MVA Winchester front sight on but I managed to get it out of whack and MVA will fix it. Shiloh mounted it originally . I have a scope for it and it’s drilled and tapped for it with the blocks installed ,I’m just not ready for a scope, eyes are still pretty good. I really like the MVA #118 front sights and have used them on 3 rifles .

Just in the last few years I been fighting using a scope. And when I can hopefully get the vision repaired in my eye you can bet that the scope blocks get removed from my rifles and the holes plugged. I have a hard time getting used to using a scope.
I sure like the wood on your rifle.
I made the mistake when Kirk showed me the dies he got from Axtel. I should have put my name on the order list for a 77.
Now knocking on the door of 84 and the long wait getting it build I might not have enough time to wear out the bore in it
But I might put my name on the list incase someone backs out with their order
Just incase you get that rifle too dirty and cant get it clean and wanting to get rid of it, drop me a line

Yep...no doubt about it. Its very easy to say I dont need a #77.... right up until one actually sees a #77 ! ...Perhaps I do need one after all. That is one lovely looking rifle. Congratulations.
