RE: 45-110, stretched 348 Win? - Kurt - 07-06-2019 Gunner I have some .45-120 Norma cases and the rim thickness is hard to give you a exact measurement because it is beveled and I have to stand it up and use the depth gauge so it might be off a thousand but I get .0623"-.062"on the second case. Rim diameter .6000" base diameter ahead of the rim .5024" RE: 45-110, stretched 348 Win? - Gunner500 - 07-07-2019 Kurt, Thank You, my Jamison mics at around 77 thou, I'll test it first for a good snug headspace fit when/if an original rifle shows up here. RE: 45-110, stretched 348 Win? - Kurt - 07-07-2019 The Norma cases with the tapered rim head a couple thousands will not have much effect especially with you shooting a GG bullet. Let the breach block finish seating the last thousand and the case will be against the blocks face. Also the Norma cases are thick at the base, they take high pressure. I have loaded my cases several years with the rim recess cut for .078" with no signs of base seperation. RE: 45-110, stretched 348 Win? - Gunner500 - 07-07-2019 Good deal and great to hear, my thought was to NOT give ANY case a running head start to slam a potentially worn old breech block, I want it all snug. Everyone knows a man cant punch you very hard if his fist is already against your shoulder.
RE: 45-110, stretched 348 Win? - Kurt - 07-07-2019 that also applies to gun buuttstocks
RE: 45-110, stretched 348 Win? - Gunner500 - 07-07-2019 You bet Kurt, and then some, my old 11.5lb 50-90 chunking 750's at 1365 would be a one lesson instructor in that department! ; ] |
