Back in 79', IHMSA was just getting started in MI. I was using a 6" Mod. 19 S&W..purchased an 8 3/8" Mod. 27..shot this for a couple of years..got up into AAA class & then went to an 8 3/8" S&W Mod. 57 .41 mag. Won a few state championships.

I had a Mod. 25-2 that went back (1979) to S&W and they made a .45 LC cylinder for it. So then I had a "convertible". Then in 1982 I traded it for a Mod. 57 8 3/8" that has taken 7 Mule deer (all with the issue sights and cast bullets) and entered a lot of IHMSA matches with it. Two years ago I finally found the Mod. 58 I have been searching for. These are my two favorite revolvers!

Great guns! I believe my favorite is the 29-5 in the Classic with the heavier barrel - it has all the endurance features and the cylinder throats are just the right size for the bore and it sure does shoot good!

Never had one of those Classics but got to shoot a few rds from one. They are nice shooting. Last 2 years the 29-3 around here is getting most of the action. bobw

Have a 4" bbl, .44 mag "Mountain Gun" in SS that I'm still try'n to wear out.

MY first handgun was a S&W M28 6" Wish I still had it. I started IMSHA with it. Owned a 625 Miculek for a while. and carried a M24 3 inch for a while for work at times. All I have a M29 4" Mountain gun now. Would not mind finding another M28.

I regret that my camera is a bit obsolete and no longer capable of first quality shots. It is a bit like me. I simply wanted to share a view of my pets. Their factory stocks are preserved separately from the guns. I can't stand Smith factories.
