RE: Buffalo Shoot - Hiwall55 - 10-18-2015 Kurt my Shiloh doesn't have any barrel sights. This spring when we went up we didn't realize that you had to shoot so fast and I had a heck of a time blow tubing and getting all my shots in, after watching those guys shoot I came home and worked a load up to shoot fast, no blow tubing . Bullets seated deep and Old Ensford powder. Worked like a champ. RE: Buffalo Shoot - Rick Mulhern - 10-18-2015 (10-18-2015, 08:08 PM)Hiwall55 Wrote: Kurt my Shiloh doesn't have any barrel sights. RE: Buffalo Shoot - Kurt - 10-18-2015 For that kind of shooting you need to use a bullet you can load dirty and a good lube. A 44-1/2 Stevens action is just the ticket for this kind of match. It will cam a cartridge better then a 1/4" into a fouled throat. Did Jason Lewis run that shoot? RE: Buffalo Shoot - Hiwall55 - 10-18-2015 Not from that area so I don't know anyone but the guy running the match was named Billy and he was from Iowa. I'm sure someone will be at the Mid-range shoot this weekend and know more about it. The match was ran so fast you really didn't know what anyone shot till it was over. They read the 5 highest scores and 4 were from our group. RE: Buffalo Shoot - Old Jim - 10-19-2015 Old Bill is a force that all will have to deal with as time goes on, a dedicated BP shooter. When you're hot, you're hot! Take notice, RE: Buffalo Shoot - Hiwall55 - 10-19-2015 Hey Jim I have been HOT. Won second place at Chillocothe, took 2 sharps to Carthage , won first and second and now first at Milan . Pretty good month. Probably good I'm quitting to go duck and goose hunting for the next 3 months before I fall flat on my face. Bill RE: Buffalo Shoot - Old Jim - 10-20-2015 Kurt, I spoke with Steve Witt a year or so back. He was well then. Steve and the Miller bros. used to shoot the Ackely Buffalo shoot years ago, don't know what they're doing these days. Back in 2002 +-, Witt was my spotter at the Quigley.
