Looks pretty nice! Eager to hear about them as hunting sights.

Jim I may just peel the target sights off the 44, looks like my shooting season is probably done except for Ekalaka and I can shoot that with the ladder sights and be perfectly happy. So hope to catch a cool damp morning and go out here south of the house on the 200 yd range and see what the thing can do with this sight.

Don looks like a fine sight! How is it in the sun?

Stephen , I don't know about them in the sun yet, but I wonder if they won't yellow a tad.

They will for a fact Don. You can hurry it a little by soaking in tea. A little of the lube on them will mellow, age, and protect them from cracking.

Might be a good place for a drop or two of jojoba?

RE: New hunting sight - Lumpy Grits - 07-27-2012

Wonder how brittle they are.Huh
Sure are nice looking.

Got it mounted this afternoon, haven't shot it yet but after I widened the notch in the rear sight, when you put that blade against a background it shows up great. Sorta loose it staring off and not pointing it at anything in particular.

It will be interesting to see how that sight works out. I have some warthog ivory to try. I understand that it doesn't turn yellow like the elephant ivory does over time. white or yellow doesn't matter as long as you can see it. Shoot straight, rdnck.
