Weather-what Weather??
Must have a blow go through last nightUndecided Been with out powder now for 16 hours. The House is so tight with brick walls and a lot of insulation in the attic that I didn't hear a thing. I just went to town to get some gas for the Gen and a 1/4 mile from home trees are down and the power crew is setting new poles. The Corn field has a road going through it. Mor bad stuff coming Dodgy maybe I better sleep in the basement and keep the hearing aids plugged in Tongue

Ed.

This has always been a tornado ally through here. We build here on this hill in 1974 and the year before we build a tornado crossed this hill and took out one of the three trees growing here. since than I have watched 4 inside a mile from us and one four miles away that tore up the town and I watched several fingers dancing around in the sky but never touched down.
Now we have trees all around our ten acres 60+ feet high and cant see past 140 yards in all directions anymore.
But it's very peaceful.

NWS says theres a tornado watch 'till 1AM for us. Put the rifles in the safe, pulled that new truck in the car-port and finished my bowl of ice-cream. Time to go to bed.

I don't mind the rain, it's the straight line winds here that cause all the problems. I was mowing a pasture a couple of weeks ago when a small storm blew through. A micro burst snapped a 12" diameter, 50' tall pine off roughly 15' above the ground about fifty yards from where I was.
That's the fourth tree we've had blown down or snapped off this spring.

I was hunting the Routt National Forest Wilderness one year and we where up 10,000 feet and it got quite breezy as the sun came up. I was setup by a pond of water about 200 yards away with a large pine for a back rest and by about 10 AM a large blast of wind came up and snapped off two brown needled pines one to my left and a few seconds later one to my right that made me a little nervous Smile
